Homeschooled Students

In recent years, we’ve noticed an increase in the number of homeschoolers applying to Huntington University. We welcome homeschooled students! We have found that most homeschoolers do well on the college level. (Which, I'm sure, is no surprise to you!)

Often we are asked, "What is required for homeschoolers in regard to the application process?" Here are the three required application steps:

Complete the online application.
Send us an official copy of your high school transcript.
Send us your official SAT or ACT test scores or essay. Homeschooled students who have taken at least six college credit hours can be considered for admission without a standardized test. Contact your admissions counselor to learn more about how to take the ACT at Huntington University.

An official high school transcript should:

List all courses taken, dates completed, and grades for each course.
Have a cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale along with the grading scale used.
Include the graduation date or anticipated graduation date.
Be signed and dated by the “School Principal."
Be emailed directly from the principal to admissions@huntington.edu or mailed to the Huntington University Office of Admissions in a sealed envelope with the principal’s signature over the seal.
Note any dual credit classes on your high school transcript, as well as providing us with an official college transcript after the course is completed.
