Assistant Professor of English

The Huntington University Department of English seeks candidates for a full-time tenure track faculty position. While the area of expertise is open, successful candidates will demonstrate broad exposure to American, British, and World literatures as well as the ability to teach Adolescent Literature. The candidate will provide in-person classroom instruction.

The candidate will teach eight undergraduate classes per academic year. This will typically include two or three Freshman level courses (EN121 Academic Writing and Research and EN151 Perspectives on Literature) and one or two upper division literature courses per semester (determined by qualifications and in consultation with the department head).

Faculty rank is dependent on degree and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Ph.D. in English required, with an ability to teach a broad range of thematic courses which incorporate American, British, and World literature.

Assistant Professor of Film Production - HU Arizona

The Department of Digital Media Arts at Huntington University Peoria AZ invites applicants for a tenure- track position in Film Production beginning Fall 2023. Theatre Arts - Adjunct Faculty

Huntington University is seeking adjunct faculty members for a variety of courses in bachelor’s degree programs in Theatre, Theatre Performance, and Theatre Technology. Prior teaching and practical experience in the arts is essential. This position requires teaching during fall or spring terms during daytime hours (no evening courses available). Opportunities may also arise for directing or designing for productions as a guest artist.

Adjunct Instructor - Liberal Arts Chemistry Lab

Occupational Therapy - Adjunct Faculty

Huntington University’s Entry Level Doctorate of Occupational Therapy Program is inviting applications for adjunct faculty with relevant clinical or research expertise across the spectrum of OT practice.


Successful applicants must have a strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and an understanding of the relationship of integration of faith and professional practice. Personal commitment to stewardship and a desire to serve others with compassion is expected. The individual must be licensed by the state of Indiana as an occupational therapist and hold a degree (bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate) awarded by an institution that is accredited by an USDE-recognized regional accrediting body. Evidence of clinical practice and research activities in professional health care organizations and the ability to work successfully with a broad range of organizations is desired. Demonstrated organizational network, strong interpersonal, and effective communication skills are needed to be successful. 


Schedule and workload are flexible to meet the needs of active clinicians with an interest in teaching/academia. Support and collaboration with content development and delivery will be provided by the full-time faculty and program director.

Women’s Basketball Graduate Assistant

Huntington University has an opening for a Women's Basketball graduate assistant.
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidate must have a personal faith in Jesus Christ and a desire to serve others
  • Candidate must enroll in one of five Huntington University Graduate Programs - Business Administration, Counseling, Leadership Coaching, Ministry, or TESOL
  • Candidate must enroll continuously in a minimum of 6 hours per semester (no term limit)
  • Candidate must work an average of 15 hours per week and no more than 30 in a week
  • Playing, coaching, or managing experience at the collegiate level is also required.

BASIC FUNCTION:

  • The Graduate Assistant’s primary responsibility is to assist the athletic team to which s/he is assigned.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The primary responsibility is to support the head and assistant coaches in all facets of day to day operations.
  • Participate in all team functions (practices, contests, devotions, team building activities, community service, etc.)
  • Perform tasks assigned by the head coach

BENEFIT:

  • $5000 stipend per year
  • Coaches may pay more to the GA in the form of a financial aid scholarship to offset tuition costs, which must be identified and paid to the Business Office in August prior to the start of the academic year. The amount cannot exceed tuition costs for the year.

OTA Lab Manager

The Occupational Therapy Assistant program seeks to hire an OTA Lab Manager.

The lab manager will provide structured learning and lab experiences for students in compliance with current ACOTE Standards. The lab manager will align teaching with university and department mission and vision statements, strategic plans, curricular philosophy, design, and level of expertise.  The lab manager will assist with student evaluations and competencies in conjunction with the faculty member of record for the respective course being taught.  In addition, the lab manager will provide ongoing program evaluation and professional development for continued success of the academic program.  Additional responsibilities include participation in student and campus events, and other University committee responsibilities or requests to support student recruitment and retention.

  • Develop and implement plans and events for recruitment of high school students
  • Increase local awareness of the OTD program in the local community. Collaborate with faculty on attending and creating events in the local community. 
  • Make recommendations regarding SWAG and other promotional materials
  • Collaborate with local grant volunteer to locate grants and other funding opportunities for OTD students to assist with overall educational costs. 
  • Facilitate communication with HU offices (financial aid, business office, ACE...)
  • With the help of OTD faculty select current students and graduates to highlight achievements. 
  • Plan and conduct university fairs with OTD faculty and OTD GA
  • Collaborate with admission director and faculty admissions chair to develop and update applicant tracking system (OTCAS). Monitor OTCAS for potential applicants. Evaluate students' records to determine eligibility. Assign faculty to score admission materials and then rank students.
  • Supervision of departmental student driven social media accounts.

Administrative Assistant to the Veritas Youth Theology Institute

Huntington University has an opening for an Administrative Assistant for the Veritas Youth Theology Institute.  This is a limited, part time position from September to June with no insurance benefits.   Work approx. 15 hours weekly and up to 28 hours per week during the Veritas Institute in June.

The basic function of the Administrative Assistant to the Veritas Youth Theology Institute is to provide administrative assistance to the Project Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and team work skills
  • Possess a high level of problem solving skills and organizational skills
  • Ability to execute multiple projects and tasks concurrently

  • Internet and Web proficiency
  • Friendly, courteous, helpful demeanor
  • Highly values good customer service
  • Ability to lead small group orientations

Bus Driver

Huntington University seeks part-time bus drivers for a 35 passenger bus.  This position is responsible for transporting students, staff, coaches, and passengers safely to and from their destination in the established times and in all types of weather and road conditions.  Observe legal, safe, and defensive driving practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a strong personal faith in Jesus Christ, a desire to serve others and a commitment to being a faithful steward of university resources
  • Must have a “clean” driving record
  • Have sufficient physical and mental abilities to operate a school bus/van in a safe manner
  • Must be narcotic drug and alcohol free
  • Professional driving experience preferred
  • This is a part-time, on call position
  • Minimum age of 25 years
  • Must possess a valid commercial driver’s with passenger endorsement
